Der EisBär ETS Remote Agent läuft am Anlagenstandort dauerhaft als Windows-Dienst (oder auf einem Raspberry Pi) und verbindet diese Schnittstelle mit dem echten KNX-Bus vor Ort. Beide bauen ihre Verbindung ausschließlich ausgehend zum Portal auf.
Two programs that work together. The EisBär ETS Connector runs on the technician's notebook and presents the remote installation to ETS as an ordinary KNXnet/IP interface — it is started when needed and closes the remote access again afterwards. The EisBär ETS Remote Agent runs permanently at the installation as a Windows service (or on a Raspberry Pi) and connects that interface to the actual KNX bus on site. Both establish their connections outbound to the Portal only.
Wie wird der Remote Agent am Standort eingerichtet?How is the Remote Agent set up on site?
In der Regel mit einem Konfigurationsschlüssel, den der Errichter mitgibt: Setup starten, Schlüssel eintippen, fertig — die Einstellungen werden beim Portal abgeholt. Alternativ gibt es eine vorbereitete Konfigurationsdatei mit separater PIN, wenn der Rechner bei der Installation noch kein Internet hat. Die KNX-IP-Schnittstelle erkennt der Remote Agent meist selbst; der Techniker kann diese Suche bei Bedarf auch aus der Ferne anstoßen.
Usually with a configuration key supplied by the installer: run the setup, type in the key, done — the settings are fetched from the Portal. Alternatively there is a prepared configuration file with a separate PIN, for when the machine has no internet during installation. The Remote Agent normally detects the KNX IP interface by itself; the technician can also trigger that search remotely if needed.

Wie sicher ist die Verbindung?How secure is the connection?
Die Anlage baut eine verschlüsselte, ausgehende Verbindung zum EisBär Portal auf — es sind zu keinem Zeitpunkt eingehende Ports auf der Anlage geöffnet. Client und ETS Connector authentifizieren sich separat beim Portal, bevor eine Vermittlung stattfindet. Bei der ETS-Fernprogrammierung ist die Strecke zwischen ETS Connector und Remote Agent zusätzlich Ende-zu-Ende verschlüsselt: Das Portal reicht nur verschlüsselte Daten weiter und sieht die KNX-Telegramme selbst nicht.
The installation opens an encrypted, outbound connection to the EisBär Portal — no inbound ports on the installation are ever opened. The client and the ETS Connector authenticate separately with the Portal before any connection is brokered. For ETS remote programming, the path between the ETS Connector and the Remote Agent is additionally end-to-end encrypted: the Portal only passes encrypted data through and never sees the KNX telegrams itself.
Was passiert, wenn ich eine Lizenz nicht verlängere?What happens if I don't renew a licence?
