Assign and verify —
right at the device. Just like ETS.
KNX2GO brings physical commissioning to wherever the device actually is — workbench, cabinet or anywhere in the building. IA test, line scan, group and bus monitor, address assignment, factory reset: the same diagnostic and addressing functions as in ETS, straight from your phone. Paired via QR with the KNX2GO ETS app, every verified address flows back into the open project automatically.

KNX2GO ETS app & KNX2GO app
A plug-in inside ETS6 on the PC, an app for the phone — paired via QR code.
KNX2GO ETS app
Runs inside ETS6 on your PC. Program from the topology view, hand the project to your phone via QR code, and generate the commissioning report.
KNX2GO app
Commissioning & diagnostics straight from your phone: connect, test, scan, monitor, assign addresses, print labels.
What KNX2GO does, at a glance
The same diagnostic and addressing functions as in ETS — just mobile.
- Connect — local (KNXnet/IP) or remote (portal)
- IA test & identify — check an address, switch/blink the prog LED
- Line scan & topology — find devices, couplers/paths as a diagram, hop check with traffic light
- Monitor — group and bus monitor, read/write values
- Commissioning — assign by serial number, prog button or FDSK (KNX Secure); overwrite; factory reset
- Check status on bus — reality check of the planned addresses: verified, open or mismatch
- Load application (optional) — trigger the application program download in ETS from the app
- Label printing — on site with the NIIMBOT D110; more printers to follow
- ETS sync — load project, return path, commissioning report
- 6 languages — DE · EN · FR · IT · ES · FI, switchable
Up and running in a few steps
Three ways to connect — depending on whether you work on site, paired with ETS, or remotely.
ETS app — publish the project to the phone
Start ETS6 and open your project (use a copy for testing — the return path writes into the project).
Open the KNX2GO ETS app in ETS6. It shows a QR code, a token and the connection address (e.g. 192.168.x.x:8642).
Choose lines: decide per line/area what is transferred to the phone — on large projects, share only the relevant lines.
Scan the QR in the app → the project (group addresses + devices) loads onto the phone.
Run “Check status on bus” for a reality check: planned addresses are queried, ones already assigned show as “IA verified ✓”.
Commission on site. Verified addresses flow back into the open project automatically.
Generate the commissioning report in one click — done & open at a glance.
App — connect & get going
Install the app from Google Play or the App Store and open it.
Connect, in one of three ways: local to a KNXnet/IP interface, paired via QR with the KNX2GO ETS app, or remote via the EisBär portal.
Get going: IA test, scan, monitor, commissioning — straight from your phone.
What you need
- ETS app
- ETS6 on your PC
- Local connection
- KNXnet/IP interface on the same network
- ETS sync
- Phone and PC on the same network; port
8642reachable - Loading applications
- Connection to the KNX2GO ETS app (same Wi-Fi); an interface must be selected in ETS
- Label printing
- NIIMBOT D110 (via Bluetooth) — the first supported printer, more in preparation
- Remote
- EisBär portal account (username + password)
- Platform
- Android and iOS
Answers to the most common questions
For the KNX2GO ETS app and the KNX2GO app for Android and iOS.
ETS sync: "timeout" / ETS app not reachable
- Is ETS6 running with the KNX2GO ETS app open?
- Are phone and PC on the same network (Wi-Fi)?
- Firewall: allow inbound access to port 8642 (or the process
ets6c.exe) on the PC — on the private network profile. - Restart ETS — this rebinds the ETS app's listener freshly (helps after a network change).
- Re-scan the QR — the token changes each ETS session.
"Load application" doesn't start or fails
The download is performed by ETS, not by the phone. So this function depends on the ETS pairing, not on the app's bus connection.
- Is the connection to the ETS app live? Phone and PC on the same Wi-Fi, ETS6 open with the KNX2GO ETS app running. After restarting ETS, re-scan the QR.
- Is an interface selected in ETS? ETS downloads over its own connection — without a selected interface it cannot start the download.
- Does the device have a planned individual address? The function is only available for project devices that have an address assigned.
- If the app reports "download failed" or "timed out", check on the PC whether the same download succeeds in ETS — if it doesn't, the cause is the bus, the device or the application, not the pairing.
Remote: "handshake failed" / error 500
Check the portal credentials (username + password) — after a reinstall they must be re-entered. Keep the SSL option enabled in the connection settings.
Label printer (D110) not found
- Is the printer switched on and in range?
- Is Bluetooth on and the "Nearby devices" permission granted?
- In Settings → Printer, turn on the "Printing" switch, then "Select printer".
Setting up and customising labels (Settings ▸ Printer)
The printer and the label template are set up once under Settings ▸ Printer — the template then applies to every label.
- Printing — the master switch that enables printing from the app
- Connection — pair via "Select printer". If the D110 doesn't show up: wake it, keep it in range and if needed use "No printer listed? Show all Bluetooth devices"
- Label template — width and height in mm, orientation (portrait/landscape), font size and intensity for contrast
- Second line — below the address, choose Off, Room, Name or free Text
- Logo — a single-colour line graphic can be stored
- Preview and Test print — check the template before you use up a roll at the cabinet
Programming buttons are greyed out
Without a bus connection no device can be programmed — so the buttons stay inactive until the app is connected to a KNXnet/IP interface or router.
- Check the connection status on the Start tab.
- If no connection is active: under Connection, search for interfaces or enter IP and port manually.
- As soon as the connection is up the buttons become active right away.
"⚠ 3 instead of 1 couplers" — hop mismatch in the topology
Every device response carries a routing counter (shown as ↻N in the list). From it the app works out how many couplers the response passed and compares that with what the topology expects:
- Green — matches the topology or the deviation has been classified
- Red — unexplained mismatch, e.g. "⚠ 3 instead of 1 couplers"
- Grey — cannot be judged through this interface
Most common cause: line repeaters and segment couplers increment the routing counter but don't appear as a level of their own in the ETS topology. How to classify it: on a mismatch, a selector appears — "behind line repeater" or "behind segment coupler". It then counts as explained, the light turns green, and the classification is stored.
No interface found (KNXnet/IP)
If discovery finds nothing, connect manually by IP and port. Some networks block multicast discovery — the manual connect still works.
Project won't load (project lock)
The KNX2GO ETS app only serves the project currently open in ETS. If a different project is open, open the correct one in ETS and re-scan the QR.
KNX Secure: commission devices with FDSK
Use the FDSK scan in commissioning. Captured certificates are collected and reported back into the ETS project.
Scanned the wrong FDSK code — how to correct it?
Every captured certificate can be reviewed and removed individually at any time — so a mis-scan is nothing to worry about.
- In the ETS tab, scroll to the bottom and open "View certificates".
- The "Captured certificates" list shows the serial number and the FDSK per device.
- Swipe the wrong entry to the left and choose Delete.
- Scan the correct code again — the corrected FDSK is reported to ETS as usual.
What happens with your data
- The app processes data locally / on the local network with your KNX hardware — no personal data is collected for analytics or advertising.
- The portal password is stored encrypted in the keychain (iOS) / keystore (Android), never in plain text.
- The remote connection uses a TLS-secured connection to the EisBär portal.
