Find KNX devices.
In seconds. Across the network.
The KNX IP-Scanner searches your network for KNXnet/IP routers and interfaces — just like the ETS search. It shows the individual address, name, IP, MAC, medium and the response time in milliseconds, monitors the bus live and records all events on demand. Free, portable, entirely local.

All discovered routers and interfaces at a glance — sortable and reorderable, with response time and a live event log.
Everything for fast KNX IP diagnostics
From a targeted adapter scan through live monitoring to event recording — lean, portable and entirely local.
Choose the network adapter
Scan on all adapters at once or pick a single one — ideal with several network cards or VPN.
Live monitoring
The bus is scanned continuously at the chosen interval. Devices that appear or disappear show up as NEW/MISSING in the log.
Response time in ms
The response time is measured and shown for every device — instantly revealing which router is sluggish.
Event recording
On demand all events are written continuously to a daily file — including IA, name, IP, MAC and response time. Target folder freely selectable.
Copy & columns
Copy a single cell or a whole row via right-click. All columns are sortable and freely reorderable via drag & drop.
Light/Dark & DE/EN
Modern light or dark theme and a German/English switch — right in the title bar, without restart.
A device list in four steps
No installation required — just launch and scan.
Download & launch
Download and run KnxScanner.exe — portable, no installation.
Choose the adapter
Select the network adapter in the top right — or “All adapters” for the whole network.
Scan
Click “Scan”. All KNXnet/IP routers and interfaces appear with IA, name, IP, MAC, medium and response time.
Monitor & record
Enable live monitoring to watch the bus continuously and turn on recording to save all events to a file.
How the KNX IP-Scanner searches
The same search as ETS: a multicast SEARCH_REQUEST that all KNXnet/IP devices answer.
KNXnet/IP discovery
- The KNX IP-Scanner sends a SEARCH_REQUEST via multicast to
224.0.23.12:3671— over each selected network interface. - Every device answers with a SEARCH_RESPONSE reporting IA, friendly name, serial number, MAC, multicast address and supported services.
- Nothing found? Usually a firewall, IGMP snooping or a VLAN blocks the multicast — the KNX IP-Scanner points this out in the log.
What is found
- Routers — couple lines/areas over IP (KNXnet/IP routing, multicast).
- Interfaces — bus access for ETS & visualisation (KNXnet/IP tunneling).
- The reported medium shows which bus the device serves:
